Liz here again ! In this post I broke down some of Guacamelee and the current Twoneironauts' characters to see what they did, what we are doing, and to learn from it all.

Hey, Liz here ! I apologize for the super late post, but earlier this week I decided to migrate our production website from Google Sites to Weebly, so I was busy with that. Everything should be on here now, but the site will always be a sort of WIP. I also did a breakdown of Guacamelee and the current Twoneironauts' environments to see what they were doing vs. what we're doing, and what we could learn from it -- which was super interesting ! Anyway, last week's work was mostly iteration on the players, along with some new props ! Here we go. Hiya, Liz here ! I broke down Guacamelee and the current Twoneironauts environments to really see what they did, what we are doing, and to learn from it all. For simplicity's sake, I broke the environments down into foreground and background vs. foreground, middle ground, and background.

Hello again and happy Monday ! As for this week's work, not a whole lot was done since we're still figuring out what we currently need to do/what needs to be done, which we'll hopefully figure out soon ! This week was just iteration all around, so nothing too new, really. Here we go ! 6.16.14
This post will be more feedback and notes from my ART 399 professors, Alain Schneuwly and Pamela Mathues; Dennis Price; and Peter Moerhle; for our Milestone 03 Presentation, along with some of the art in this post. 6.2.14 - 6.8.14
Happy Monday! This past week was pretty low for me in terms of mood and production, but now that it's over I'm feeling way better !! I'm hoping for some good things this week, both for the game and just overall. :D Milestone 03 in ART399 was due this week, so a lot of my time was put into just completing the deliverables for the milestone, versus doing more concept work. On the plus side, a first pass of the game's Style Guide has been completed, which can be seen here ! Now to talk a little about what I've done this week. 6/2/14
This post will be feedback and notes from my ART 399 professors, Alain Schneuwly, Pamela Mathues, and Rachel Rutherford; other students in ART 399; and my ART 401 professor, John Thacker, for the art in this post, along with other previous work. 5.26.14 - 6.1.14
Hello! This week was a bit rocky as well, as I wasn't feeling very good in the middle of the week, but things are getting done ! I have a lot of things on my plate work-wise, not just with Twoneironauts, and the past week or two I honestly haven't been able to keep up with it all, so I've been feeling bad about it... During the week, it seems my schedule is class/meetings/interning/out from around 9am - 9pm, then going home and working (lately just on Twoneirounauts) from 10pm - 3am. This time frame shifts around depending on the day, as I intern Tuesday - Thursday, but that's generally what happens. Although I really like having a schedule and being productive, it's a bit depressing that my weekdays are full of just working. I try to make my weekends work-filled as well, because those days are usually "uninterrupted," so I can just sit in one place and work on things. Now, I'll be honest and say that I don't work and concentrate 100% of the time, and some nights I spend time with my boyfriend or friends, so maybe it's just on me to manage my time better ! During the past two weeks, I've also realized that I need to prioritize my time when working on things (or just in general !), which I'll address later in this post. Anyway, I'm hoping that the upcoming week is better, both with my time management and work. We have a lot to do !! Ever since I started doing game development, color palettes were always this magical thing that I didn't really understand. I didn't know why they were helpful, how they were made, or anything about them really. Recently we've bumbled our way through creating simple color palettes for the environments and the characters, and I've learned a lot about the process.
The first thing I learned is that color is hard. Really hard. And unless you have a good eye for it, it's a very practiced skill. |
