Hello everyone!
This week marks the second week in development for Radio Galaxy's senior game project, Twoneironauts! It's always been an interest of mine to take up design. Originally I attended DigiPen as a designer, but because I found the technology behind games so much more appealing, I moved to RTIS. If anything I will be able to provide a great creative direction to narrow the focus. And my overall goal is to help bridge the gap that - I've felt has always been present to some degree in all teams - between the different disciplines. I'm a little late on these blog posts, but I just got the site up this week. So let's start with Week 00!

This post will be feedback and notes from my ART 399 professors, Alain Schneuwly and Pamela Mathues, along with Peter Moehrle, for the art in this post. 5.10.14
LIZ'S EMAIL: Professor, This is Liz Pulanco, part of the game team Radio Galaxy. For Milestone 01 a rough look and feel thumbnail comp is due. Is it possible to make a deal memo to not do that, as we've already made mock ups of our gameplay and are sure of what it'll look like? These are the mock ups we've done, as a reminder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/02r7g0wfe9a8xry/MockUp_GameScene_CastleCrashers.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqbcgqon6bimtaw/MockUp_GameScene_Guacamelee.png We feel that doing a rough look and feel comp would be redundant given what we already have done, and that I could be putting more time towards other work we do need, like the character thumbnails. - Liz PROF. SCHNEUWLY'S RESPONSE: Yes I agree, put your effort on the character thumbnail. Though remember that you will still need to push on the look of the environment and do a color concept illustration to really nail down the look of your environment, including colors, lighting and overall feel. This will help the team to understand exactly how the game is going to look like. For Milestone 1 you're OK with what you have for the environment. -- Alain Schneuwly -unsaturate the ground so that the players' presence is unquestionable
-bark texture -ground plane perspective -statue not recognizable -likes the colors in the back trees - -place character in scene
- GUACAMELEE -cannot tell that it was a statue -ground too much contrast CASTLE CRASHERS -tree area too much contrast -statue here is good |
